Bodyography Makeup Artist of the Year finalists

Bodyography Professional Cosmetics has announced the six finalists for the Australian Hair Fashion Awards (AHFA) Makeup Artist of the Year award.

The 2010 finalist are Luana Vitale (NSW), Aleisha Cowan (QLD), Christian Alexander (QLD), Jessica Obst (SA), Nathalie Edwards (VIC) and Verity Griffiths (NSW).

Each entrant was required to submit three images, one natural look, one high fashion look and a glamour look.

Rob Tamburro, Director, Bodyography Australia, said: “The quality of work was amazing and it was great to see everyone's creativity come to life. We have seen different aspects on what natural, glamour and fashion means to each individual person, and then how they captured it into a story was great to see.”

The winner will be announced on March 29 at the AHFA event, to be held at Sydney Town Hall and featuring international guests and leading stylists and artists from the Australian hair and makeup industries.

The prize is an all expenses paid trip to Los Angeles, USA, where they will spend one day at the offices at Bodyography, one day in the lab with Bodyography’s creative director and a day at Universal Studios.

Tamburro added:

“For Bodyography, it is the second year in succession that we are proud to sponsor the AHFA and in particular, the makeup category. Following the awards last year, we decided to make next year’s award bigger and better on a grand scale; to make an award that got all makeup artists in the industry together regardless of what brand they used. We knew that we had the right stage to present the award but we had to attract artists to this new stage.

“In the coming years, we plan to grow this to be the leading makeup artists’ award in Australia, with a panel of judges selected to ensure that the winner is chosen on talent, without any biased judging. In the past year, Bodyography has worked on many photo shoots around the country and to be involved with such talented artists is a privilege. We hope that through this award, Bodyography will meet new and inspiring artists that can work alongside us as we grow in Australia. This is our way of giving back and awarding the industry.”
