Did you know that a St.Tropez spray tan is performed every minute? Or that a till rings every fifteen seconds because a St.Tropez product has just been sold? True story.

So it makes sense that St.Tropez Australia should enlist one of Australia’s foremost makeup artists to join the team. This week St.Tropez, creators of the Gradual Tan In Shower Lotion, announced the appointment of beauty pro Michael Brown as the brand’s Australian Skin Finishing Expert.

Makeup artist to the stars, Michael Brown has a CV that reads like an A-list roll-call. Want names? Jesinta Campbell, Terry Biviano, Nikki Phillips, Rebecca Judd, Stephanie Rice, Jodie Gordon, Ashley Hart, Tegan Martin and Grace Huang are just a few that have Michael Brown on speed dial.

Michael Brown has also tended to the faces of many a top model too. Names such as Gemma Ward, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Emma Booth and Jessica Gomes will give you an idea of the calibre. He’s also a household name thanks to regular appearances on commercial television programs including Channel 9’s Mornings.

“It’s so easy for me as I have been a fan of [St.Tropez] products for such a long time,” says Michael Brown. “Being a makeup artist first and foremost, it has always been my go-to tanning product. I love St.Tropez’s ‘Skin Finishing’ philosophy, as it is so in line with my work and the Australian tanning industry. It’s been such an easy fit and I love working with such a premium brand”.

Here are Michael Brown’s tanning tips to pass onto your clients:

  1. In the days before a tan, prep the skin moisturiser such as St.Tropez Tan Enhancing Moisturiser.
  2. Exfoliate and complete all hair removal at least 24-48 hours prior to application.
  3. Don’t moisturise the entire body before a tan, just focus on the driest areas of the skin such as hands, feet, elbows and knees.
  4. Moisturise the body as much as possible following tan application as this increases longevity and even-fade of the tan.
