CND nails another MBFW

Pacific Nail & Beauty shared the spotlight with some of Australia’s top fashion designers at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Sydney.

This year the company, which has styled nails at the event for over a decade, partnered with designers Aje, Gary Bigeni, Vale Denim and Romance Was Born to give their collections “the finishing touch” with CND nail products.

According to PNB public relations coordinator Danelle Dent, the company offers “a unique fashion week nail service” to MBFW designers to ensure flawless results in the high-pressure environment.

“Nail designs are premade on adhesive Fashion Week tips allowing for fast, no-mess application, uniformed designs and a flawless result,” she explains.

“This option is most desirable with designers. However, some do still ask for the model’s natural nails and toes to be polished, therefore we use our quick dry polish range, CND Vinylux.

Dent says CND’s team of education ambassadors work together to create “everything from the initial nail design sample to the finished look on the model’s nails”.

“The CND Nail Team collaborates with each designer’s creative vision to offer their collection the finishing touch.”

For example, CND created “colourful, playful nail designs” to complement the models’ clothing in Romance Was Born’s parade last week.

“From subtle colour and glitter fades to a rainbow of eye-popping hues, the CND nail team created unique, one-off designs that gave the final statement to each outfit,” says Dent.

“Bright half-moon and French-tip designs were fashioned from our CND Creative Play Nail Lacquer colours in Hottie Tomattie, You’ve Got Kale, Berry Shocking, Sexy & I Know It, A Lilac-y Story, Hold On Bright, Black & Forth and Candycade.

In addition CND Creative Play  glitters ( in Glittabulous, Flash-ion Forward and Bling Toss) also featured in numerous designs to give the ultimate sparkle to make the nails shine.

At the Gary Bigeni show, which featured “the ultimate in restrained chic”, the CND Nail Team filed the models’ natural nails to a squoval shape with half-moons then painted in CND  Vinylux classic, Cream Puff and finished with two coats of CND  Vinylux Top Coat.

According to Dent, all of CND’s catwalk looks are suitable for wear off the catwalk too.

“The catwalk looks are very wearable, however we might see them appear as a feature nail rather than a full set,” she says.
