Anita Quade catches up with makeup maestro, Victoria Curtis of Curtis Collection to learn how she keeps ahead of the curve.
You have been traveling recently. What makeup trends have you seen?
“Beauty trends in 2024 are all about expressing your creativity. Makeup is now becoming a powerful part of a woman’s overall style. Some of the most notable trends this year include bold blush, monochromatic eyeshadow, graphic eyeliner, high gloss lips and skin, as well as retro, classic red lips. The trends hit edgy as well as feminine, which allows you to change your makeup look to suit your outfit or specific style and aesthetic. The powder highlighter is also making a huge comeback in 2024. I personally love this trend as it allows you to enhance and shape the face as well as defining your features – especially the cheekbones!”
How do you keep your signature brand up to date?
“I constantly research and keep a close eye on the latest trends in the industry. Every year we launch new products around trends that we believe will be influential in our industry and relevant to our customers. I always keep our customers in mind and products that they may like to see from us.
I believe the edge that we have is the close relationships that we maintain with our retailers. They are customer-facing and know exactly what their clients want from their makeup. We love and welcome their feedback. This keeps us up to date and with our finger on the pulse.”
What is your most innovative product?
“Our most innovative product is our Naked Glow Cream. This product is not your average Colour Corrector. This miracle cream offers the lightest coverage in our collection, designed to help you achieve the ‘no makeup’ makeup look. It literally corrects and perfects your complexion right before your eyes. The magic begins when the cream is first applied to your skin.
