Originally launched at Hair Expo in June, Shortcuts Software’s mylocalsalon.com.au website is a virtual marketplace that allows customers to search and make live, real time bookings for hair and beauty services anywhere, any time.
For a limited time, hair and beauty salons, day spas and holistic practitioners can register for a free 90-day trial of mylocalsalon.com.au and associated software Shortcuts MyBooker. This software will enable salons to trial the online directory and receive online bookings from customers 24/7 directly into their appointment book. Additional modules enable salons and spas to communicate with customers via text and email.

When officially launched to the general public on Monday September 6, mylocalsalon will feature several hundred Australian hair and beauty salons and spas with the number of businesses expected to grow quickly.
Visitors will be able to search the mylocalsalon directory according to business, service, location and price; book appointments in real time directly into a salon’s appointment book based on rules which the salon has configured; and receive immediate booking confirmation. The site will offer customers the ultimate in convenience and technology including a free iPhone application, exclusive mylocalsalon specials, and in the future GPS- tracked SMS communication and gift certificates.
From September 6, iPhone users can download the free mylocalsalon iPhone app so wherever they are, the app will find the nearest salon to their current location.
Mylocalsalon.com.au operates on a low-cost booking fee model. It generates income by charging salons a $5 booking fee for each appointment made by a client. There are no additional charges for Shortcuts clients already using BookME.
