Messe Frankfurt India, the organisers of this October’s Beautyworld India say the event offers an attractive proposition for international manufacturers eager to enter the Indian market, where demand for cosmetics and health care is at its healthiest.
In its second year, the 2009 fair sees the launch of the Beautyworld India Hair Awards, organised with Intercoiffure Mondial India. Stylists from all over India are getting set to engage in a tough competition.
The event will feature product ranges from cosmetics, skincare, hair care, mouth and dental care, spa and wellness, fitness equipment, to packaging, raw materials, manicure and pedicure, interior design and furniture for beauty salons, as well as training centres and publishers from India and abroad. Countries exhibiting include Germany, Italy, Turkey, Spain, China and Australia.
More than 16 professional workshops will be held alongside the fair, allowing for an exchange of latest information, new techniques and products. Highlights include a presentation by the famous Ananda Spa in the Himalayas, which will elaborate on Ayurveda and the healing process. Dr. Geeta Pandya, a pioneer in the field of gynaecological endoscopy and assisted reproduction in India will speak on hormones and their related aspects. The Food & Drug Administration, together with the Mumbai Customs Authorities, will hold a panel discussion of how to import into India.
A “Cut & Go” hairdressing area will feature leading celebrity hairstylists from the “Hair India People” offering quick hair styles. Attending “Bollywood” celebrities should also prove popular.
“We are upbeat about the fair this year even if we cannot expect a large growth in exhibitor numbers due to the economic downturn in most markets. Our commitment to this market means that we will ensure high levels of interaction between buyers and sellers as well as the consumers of India. The excellent Hair Awards will set the industry in a path of high standards for many years to come. The high quality speakers we bring to the event will impart knowledge and information that our growing market needs,” said Ms. Shammi Nagpal, Managing Director, Messe Frankfurt India.
A new concept of the fair features two separate areas within the fair – Beautyworld India Professional (open to trade only) and Beautyworld India Direct (open to public) – which has been well received by the industry.
Beautyworld India 2009 takes place from 4 to 6 October 2009 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (East), Mumbai, India.
