16- 18 September 2011 will see Melbourne transformed into a colour and art feast for tattoo and body art enthusiasts with the opening of the inaugural Melbourne Tattoo & Body Art Expo.
Over 120 Australian and international artists will come together to showcase their skills where they’ll tattoo, pierce and modify the brave.
Previously held in Sydney for the last three years drawing international celebrities, including Ruthless, star of international reality TV series, LA Ink; the Melbourne Tattoo & Body Art Expo will showcase local talent in a cultured Victorian community of underground, tattoo and body art creatives.
Special guests will include Toni “The Face” Cronin, formerly Chopper Read’s chauffeur and bodyguard, a well-known author of more than 13 books, including A path that could have killed me and The Face, Parts 1-7. Easily identifiable by his tattoo-covered body, Toni “The Face” Cronin will be available for photo opportunities and sharing his insights into his life.
Attendees with awe-inspiring body art are invited to enter the daily Tattoo Contest where even those freshly-inked at the show, can compete to win in the ‘Best Tattoo of the Day’ category. Expo tickets and appointments with preferred artists should be confirmed early to avoid disappointment.
As a collaborative project, all artists will work on a large canvas throughout the three days and the completed artwork will be auctioned on Sunday, September 18, where all the proceeds will be donated to the Cure Our Kids charity at Westmead Children’s Hospital, Sydney.
A huge range of stalls will showcase the latest fashion, body jewellery, tattoo supplies, books and magazines as well as temporary tattoos for the less adventurous.
