Aveda’s Spring/Summer 2015 look for Novis was a celebration of pop art graphics and vivid colour.
Aveda was chosen to adorn the faces of models for this year’s New York Fashion Week (NYFW) show for Nova. To compliment the label’s clean lines, models were given a bright, fresh-faced look. “The look is really beautiful and fresh, but not so girly; it’s much more lady-like and grown up,” explained Aveda global artistic director, Janell Geason.
Using colors from the Aveda Spring/Summer 2015 makeup collection, Geason kept the face clean while subtle bursts of pinks were found on the eyes and lips.
To create a dewy appearance, Geason moisturised the face with Tourmaline Charged Hydrating Creme, then evened out skin by applying Inner Light Mineral Loose Powder in the shade closest to the skin tone.
After that, brows were groomed by brushing up and over, then set with a coat of Aveda’s Mosscara in Earth. For the eyes, Geason applied Petal Essence Single Eye Color in Azalea from the lid to the brow bone, followed by Petal Essence Single Eye Color in Winter Lilac to the outer edges of the top lids and punctuated by Mosscara in Earth on the upper and lower lashes.
Cheeks were then contoured with the brand’s Uruku Bronzer in Amazonia, before the look was finished up with bright pink lips, which were achieved by first blocking out the natural lip colour by coating the lips with concealer, then, using a fresh lip applicator, colour was dabbed onto the lips, using Aveda’s Nourish-Mint Rehydrating Lip Glaze in Pink Hibiscus.
