So it takes you a while to get ready, so what? But did you know our beautification processes took this much time out of our lives? Nadia Stennett asks if there’s such a thing as too beautiful…
My husband has often joked the above picture represents what it feels like when he waits for me to get ready before an event.
Turns out he wasn’t far off the mark…
…if your significant other is prone to whining about the ‘years’ of his life he’s supposedly wasted waiting around for you, be sure he doesn’t find this. Ever.
According to a recent survey* of over two thousand Australian women aged 16 and over, women spend an average of 55 minutes a day on our looks. That includes everything from facials to fake tans at the salon, to everyday makeup application at home.
Fifty-five minutes all up a day, that’s not so bad, right?
Well, until you add it all up…
Fifty-five minutes cleansing, lippie-applying and hair joujing a day, including those regular trips to the salon, equates to two weeks per year more or less spent sitting in front of a mirror.
But far more disturbingly, over the course of our lives, that’s 3.2 YEARS most of us will never get back.
So if your significant other is also prone to whining about the ‘years’ of his life he’s supposedly wasted waiting around for you, be sure he doesn’t find this. Ever.
Have your say: Do you have clients who spend too much time at the salon? Is there such as thing as too beautiful, anyway?
