New York celebrity nail stylist Lisa Logan recently visited Japan to demonstrate Minx nails at The Tokyo Nail Expo.
Lisa Logan’s exciting career includes traveling with Beyoncé for on-site manicures, winning Star Magazine’s ‘Manicurist of the Year’ award, and being one of the busiest nail stylists during New York Fashion Week.
“We first met Lisa Logan at a Minx party in Los Angeles, and we were so impressed with her that we knew we had to bring her to meet our sub-distributors and salon staff,” says Yoko Tanaka, a Minx distributor and owner of four Tokyo salons.
“Celebrity styles greatly impact Japanese fashion, so if celebrities are all getting Minxed, Japanese women will copy it,” adds Tanaka.
Held on November 28 and 29, 2010, the Tokyo Nail Expo is the largest nail show in Japan. While at the expo, Lisa worked a rotating schedule of 30-minute demonstrations at the booths, instructing the show attendees about Minx, answering questions, and revealing some of her insider application tips.
“I had the cameras set up right over my hands so no matter how large a group gathered, they could all clearly see my demonstration. Pink is a really popular color in Japan, so I showed them how to layer a fuchsia pink Minx template over a rose gold Minx base, and everyone became really excited by the concept of layering, and the resulting unique color,” explains Lisa.
Lisa spent the rest of her time in Japan visiting Tanaka’s salons and attending Minx parties, where she provided Minx demonstrations, explained its application, and signed autographs for the various salon owners.
“Lisa works so hard, and has such a passion for Minx, that we consider ourselves very fortunate to have met her and to be able to build such a strong relationship with her,” says Tanaka.
