This year, Salon Melbourne will have a renewed focus on skincare and promises a whopping four times as many stage demonstrations to previous years.
Scheduled for 5 – 6 March 2016, the trade-only expo will showcase several new initiatives.
New to this year is the Skincare Sanctuary: the go-to area to speak to leading global and Australian skincare brands (think Dermalogica and Advanced Skin Technology), learn the ins and outs of skincare science, and watch treatment demonstrations.
Another new feature is The Hub; a new central feature on the expo floor, which offers four interactive demonstration areas tailored to makeup, nails, grooming and anti-ageing. Also new for 2016 is the Fashion Manicure Competition and the Editorial Make-up Competition both with two category levels (professionals and novices), and the Platinum Program, which offers discounts on the Beauty Bootcamps, the Makeup Symposium and Salon Melbourne’s business and creative education sessions. Go to Salon Melbourne website to see if you are eligible.
Salon Melbourne ramps up its education program this year as well to ensure that artists and therapists can walk away with valuable new salon skills. There will be two beauty bootcamps, the Brow Bootcamp with Jazz Pampling and the Bridal Bootcamp with Melissa Sassine, as well as a two-day Make-up Artist Symposium, conducted by award-winning makeup artist Becca Gilmartin who will deliver in-depth, hands-on learning.
Attendees certainly won’t leave Salon Melbourne 2016 feeling deprived of creative inspiration. The ‘Look ‘n Learn’ sessions will provide plenty of ideas. Well-known nail expert Mandi Levanah will teach attendees how to create the perfect nail finish, while the highly-skilled Cleopatra Tucker from Cutiecoolz, will demonstrate incredibly intricate nail designs that are all about free-hand artistry. Brow expert, Jazz Pampling will cater to men with her one-hour, live demonstration session on male brow shaping and professional techniques for hair removal.
On the scientific front, Chiza Westcarr, from Advanced Skin Technology, will revel the key ingredients to reversing the ageing process.
With over 20 business and creative education sessions being conducted over the two days and near-endless inspiration for beauty professionals, visitors can expect more contributors, more innovations, more experts, and more exhibitor news on display at Salon Melbourne 2016. It’s going to be BIG.
