In the lead-up to World Oceans Day this Saturday (June 8), La Mer is continuing its “La Mer Blue Heart mission to create a ripple of good to help protect ocean habitats”.
Until the end of this month, the luxury skincare brand is donating US$25 (up to US$650,000) to the La Mer Blue Heart Oceans Fund to support ocean conservation projects around the world for every public social media post using #LaMerBlueHeart and #LaMerDonation.
In addition, the brand which has been owned by The Estee Lauder Companies since 1995, had launched a 100ml Limited-Edition Blue Heart Crème de la Mer jar adorned “with a shimmering array of sea kelp and coral” to commemorate its commitment to the ocean.
Now selling in selected David Jones and Mecca Cosmetica locations as well as online at www.cremedelamer.com.au, the collectable has a RRP of $665
According to La Mer, the brand, which views the sea as its “living muse”, is committed to helping protect marine habitats across the globe.
“At La Mer, the ocean is a symbol of promise on the horizon.
“For over a decade, La Mer has been committed to protecting our precious seas around the world.
“This year, we continue our mission by helping safeguard marine areas through awareness-raising initiatives and charitable donations from the La Mer Blue Heart Oceans Fund, in hopes to ensure future flourishing seas for generations to come.”
To date, La Mer has helped support “the protection of 16 million miles (25.7 million kilometres) of unique marine habitats across the globe”.
Furthermore, in tribute to its founder, Dr Max Huber who was inspired by “the ocean’s legendary healing powers”, La Mer continues to “only use sea kelp sustainably hand-harvested from pristine, protected waters off the coast of Vancouver Island in its nutrient-rich Miracle Broth which lies at the heart of every La Mer product.”
