Look, a leading Australian artist management and photo shoot production company, has launched Look Academy, which it says is the first and only professional makeup and hair styling academy run within an agency for professional fashion photographers, hair stylists and makeup artists.
Look’s artists include well known industry names such as Chris King, Martin Bray, Andi Coventon and Felicia Yong who have now come together to share their skills, secrets, tips and tricks at Look Academy in a variety of courses designed for women of all ages, as well as aspiring hair and makeup artists.
It offers a one-day intensive hair and makeup workshop for women to learn makeup secrets and techniques to enhance their current makeup style or to try out new ‘looks’.
The academy also offers eight-week intensive foundation courses in makeup and hair styling for those who aspire to a career in makeup.
Guy Venables founded The Look Agency, as it was then known, with his wife in 1990. He said of the new academy:
“Look Academy is offering a unique experience compared to every other makeup academy in Australia. It was Australia’s first specialist agency for hair and makeup artists. Look quickly grew to manage and produce for leading fashion and advertising photographers as well as managing hair and makeup artists and stylists, which is what the company has done ever since.
“We have created an elite hair styling and makeup academy where students learn directly from hair and makeup professionals. Students get to see the inside of a working agency and learn about the real world of professional hair and makeup. All courses take place in our custom state-of-the-art learning studios at Look’s Sydney and Melbourne agency offices. Perhaps some of our students will be LOOK’s new stars one day, you never know…" he added.
Look Academy is taking bookings from September. For further information on courses visit www.lookacademy.com.au or call (02) 9380 8822.
