BEAUTY + SPA Insiders a resounding success

Presenter for the day, Sarah Hudson of Skin by Sarah Hudson, opened the proceedings, and introduced an array of speakers, each of them challenging the norm and encouraging attendees (both at the venue and those viewing virtually) to take on new practices that would have an impact on their salon, staff, the environment and their bottom line.

Adventurer and motivational speaker Sam Penny set the tone, reminding attendees that “adventure is just trying new things”.

Dermalogica’s Emma Hobson, Victoria Curtis of Curtis Collection, Kirsten Cachia of Candela and Amanda Foxon-Hill of New Directions fronted a panel on production innovation and personalisation, while Nicole Montgomery of Trusted Surgeons led attendees through the ins and outs of creating a successful social media campaign, reminding the audience that consumers react more positively to user-generated content than they do to product shots.

The audience was also treated to educational segments on successful financial strategies, methods to make their salon eco-sustainable, and creating a winning salon interior.

Lizzy Boots of Boots and All walked attendees through the golden rules of finding and keeping great staff, while another panel of experts including Epilab’s Nancy Francis, Dr Clara Hurst and ESK’s Daniel Rubenstein discussed the process of launching a product.

Dr Josh Wall of Contour Clinics, Nikki L’Wren of Spa Salon Divas, and Dr Jake Sloane discussed the importance of digital marketing, and how to do it well.

Following afternoon tea, Dr Sean Arendse of Flawless Rejuvenation discussed the non-invasive devices to look for. He was then joined by Dr Phoebe Jones of Concept Cosmetic Medicine and Dr Steven Liew of Shape Clinic to discuss the methods in which to make the most of injectables.

To round out the day, Rene Herald of Temple Skincare & Spa, Daniela Costa of Daniela Costa Beauty and Michelle Grove of Indulgences Beauty Therapy discussed the virtue of being virtual.

After an informative and entertaining day, attendees enjoyed (socially distanced) networking drinks, and toasted to a successful event.
