When Belinda and Felecia had reactions from an eyelash serum 5 years ago, they never imagined where they would be in 2021. Their Australian-made Long Lashes eyelash enhancer and Bold Brows eyebrow enhancer have been a huge success, not only in Australia but also internationally.
CanGro has been trading for 4 years now, and what a wild 4 years it has been. they are going from strength to strength, from one product (Long Lashes eyelash enhancer) to manufacturing over 12 products with a dozen more due to launch in 2022.
Long Lashes was born of and thrives on the brand’s values:
- Australian made
- Only using the highest quality ingredients
- Gentle and effective for even the most sensitive eyes (no nasty ingredients)
- Made with vegan and gluten-free ingredients
- Produced via cruelty-free manufacturing
Most importantly, Long Lashes is free from growth hormones. The owners were determined to fight the rampant use of harmful growth hormones that are found in so many other lash serums.
According to Felecia, the use of growth hormones, like prostaglandins “have been linked to cause side effects such as change in iris colour, darkening of eyelid colour, inflammation around the eyes, dry eye, redness, itching and watering.”
Belinda and Felecia live and manufacture their products on the Northern Beaches of Sydney and pride themselves on being Australian made. “When COVID-19 hit we were selling hundreds of serums to salons who wanted to keep their doors open by still selling products,” says Belinda. “It was great that we could help salons through this time. While other brands ran out of stock, we easily kept up with the demand as our factory, based here in Australia, was able to keep producing products.”
Along with Long Lashes eyelash enhancer, the dynamic duo also manufacturer Bold Brows eyebrow enhancer, Beauty Bod Collagen, Hero Hair Serum and Booster and a new range of skincare products. “We try to support our salons as much as possible and allow email marketing, selling through ecommerce websites and provide all the images and videos they need to successfully sell all of our CanGro products”.
Because of the success of our CanGro products, the team expedited the production of the new Beauty Bod skincare range – a no nasties, vegan beauty brand that works even for the most sensitive of skin types. It means that active ingredients can be used by all. The new range includes eye cream, serums, cleanser and moisturisers and are filled with active ingredients that target the signs of ageing.
Sales are continuing to grow, says Belinda. “And the best part is we are helping small Australian businesses stay afloat during tough times. There’s no price you can put on that.”
