Caviar is synonymous with luxury. The delicacy is born of the sea and is high in vitamin B12, iron and magnesium. While often reserved for the menus of fine dining establishments, caviar has also entered the formulations of some of the world’s best regarded skincare products.
Recent studies suggest that the nutrient-rich ingredient can assist with the easing of skin inflammation and atopic dermatitis-like skin disease. It was noted in a journal article by Lee et al., 2020 that evidence points to caviar extract as “an inducer of adiponectin – or amino acid protein – production, leading to an improvement of skin health.” As recently as October 2022, Park et al. found that caviar protein extract could suppress wrinkle formation “by directly inhibiting oxidative stress and inflammation in keratinocytes.”
Australian cosmeceutical brand, SkinGen (distributed under Esthetica Academy) has worked with the unique ingredient for its anti-ageing products.
SkinGen’s highly concentrated Caviar Serum is designed to stimulate cellular metabolic rate. It also contains amino acids, micronutrients and vitamins to improve the skin’s texture and elasticity.
Caviar Serum works best when combined with Caviar Cream – a rich, luxurious solution best reserved for nightly use. The formula works to nourish the skin and boost collagen synthesis to restore antioxidants, providing a more youthful appearance to the skin.
Caviar Cream also contains natural extracts of fish eggs, elastin and a complex of active ingredients from the sea. Natural DMAE affects muscle tone, and is ideal for improving skin elasticity and texture. For enhanced anti-ageing results, the Caviar Cream can also be combined with the SkinGen Retinol Serum.
Mediha Zeeshan, Managing Director at Esthetica Academy joined Professional Beauty’s Hannah Gay for a webinar to discuss the SkinGen story, including the Australian brand’s unique product-line combining skincare actives and medicinal herbs. The full interview can be viewed here.
