The 4th annual Brisbane Hair and Beauty Expo “entertained, inspired and educated” nearly 7000 industry professionals over two action-packed days at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre last week.
Event founder and manager Jason Greenhalgh said he was extremely excited with this year’s Expo and the event’s future potential as it attracted visitors from the sunny capital as well as from regional Queensland, Darwin, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and New Zealand
“Once again, we are so appreciative of the industry support of the 2018 Brisbane Hair and Beauty Expo,” he said.
“They have voted with their feet as this industry event continues to go from strength to strength.
“The increases we are experiencing year after year are amazing.
“There is no doubt that the Brisbane hair and beauty industries are in good shape.
Highlights of the event included:
88 exhibitors with ‘deals and special offers galore’ ‒ The brands on show included Poni Cosmetics, Pravana, Silk Oil of Morocco, Inglot, Excellent Edges, Young Nails, Professional Use, Comfortel Furniture, GlamPalm, iCandy Scissors Australia, Depot, Wahl, Dessata, Techno Tan and Crown Brush.
Extended Education Program ‒ Featured the ‘best-of-the-best’ industry experts and educators including Lorna Evans, Rae Morris, Richard Kavanagh, Brad Ngata, Gay Wardle, Charlotte Ravet, Faye Murray and Nicole ‘Pinky’ Thompson, the program saw “500+ people learn valuable techniques, skills and information across a variety of topics”.
Three stages ‒ Over 40 free presentations on the Salon Cash Centre Stage, Timely Spotlight Stage and Horatio & Finn Barbershop Stage were incorporated into the all inclusive entry ticket price.
The expanded Sunshine Pro Series Competitions ‒ Over 500 industry professionals competed in the Emendee Nail Competition, Pravana Hair Competition, Redken Brews Barbering Competition, LashJoy Lash Competition and the Crown Brush Makeup Competition.
Greenhalgh said he was grateful to all those who supported this year’s event – “our sponsors, partners, exhibitors, educators and visitors”.
“The event will only be as strong as the support provided by the industry.
“As Queensland’s premier hair and beauty event, we continue to look for new ways to take the event to the next level.
“We are already planning for 2019 and look forward to welcoming the industry once again with open arms.”
The 2019 Brisbane Hair and Beauty Expo will be held on Sunday July 28 and Monday July 29.
