Benefit Australia has broken a Guinness World Record while raising funds for Australian women and girls.
On Saturday Benefit Australia took out the Guinness World Records title for the most eyebrow waxes performed in eight hours by a team when 10 Benefit brow experts waxed 435 brows in eight hours to smash the previous world record of 382 brows.
The event was held as part of Benefit’s annual philanthropy program Bold is Beautiful – every $10 from every brow wax is donated to the Look Good Feel Better, Fitted for Work and Sister 2 Sister charities which all work to create positive change in the lives of women and girls around Australia.
Benefit Australian general manager Beth Glancey said the company’s Bold Is Beautiful project was introduced to give back to women and girls in communities all over the world.
“Each market partners with local charities that are dedicated to fostering women’s empowerment through education, access to wellness and financial self-sufficiency,” she said.
“We know firsthand the impact a set of well-groomed arches can make to a woman’s confidence and it is this kind of impact that we set out to make through the Bold Is Beautiful project.
“Today [the eyebrow waxing event) was all about doing what Benefit do best which is raise some serious eyebrows – all in the spirit of looking, feeling and doing good for women and girls across Australia’.
The event raised $4350 which contributes to a total pledge of $200,000 for the month..
Host for the record-breaking day, TV presenter Lauren Phillips said “all egos were set aside for a good cause” at the event.
“Everyone left not only looking fabulous, but also doing something great for Australian women and girls,” she said.
