Celebrating its 18th birthday, Cosmoprof 2013 will be held this year at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 13th to 15th November.
Organised by Cosmoprof Asia Ltd, a joint venture between UBM Asia and BolognaFiere Group, this annual gathering of the international beauty trade is a launch pad for new ideas and innovations – showcasing and educating the worldwide industry in order to continuously reinvent the ‘new world of beauty’.
Cosmoprof Asia continues to innovate with new features this year with an expected estimate of around 2,000 exhibitors and 55,000 visitors. Main features include the International Buyer Programme, Nail Up!, Hair Show Rendezvous and Educational Track.
The International Buyer Programme is designed to target countries where the beauty trade is still emerging. The new Focus Country for 2013 will be the United Arab Emirates. This year’s International Buyer Programme will facilitate direct contact between exhibitors and select distributors and importers from Australia, China, India, Japan and New Zealand through pre-scheduled meetings. According to bookings to date, there will be country and group pavilions representing Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, the Taiwan region, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Nail Up! is scheduled to be a highlight of this year’s show. It is a new area dedicated to nail and nail accessories. This is a fast growing sector that has boomed in the previous year – Cosmoprof seeks to facilitate this growth with a specialty area dedicated to nail art and practical solutions for nail technicians. Exhibitors will have the opportunity to demonstrate their products and skills on the main stage. Silvia Fossati, the editor in chief of Love Nails will be kicking off with a seminar on global nail art trends in colour and texture.
This year, the Educational Track will be looking in to the operational and marketing aspects of managing a spa business. 2013 sees the 6th year of the Cosmoprof Asia Spa Conference, this year, the US industry analyst Kline & Company will discuss the market potential for beauty device in the East and West. A special seminar “Focus on China” will look at how to seize opportunities of cosmetic channel sales in China. “Focus on Japan” will provide an overview of consumer trends in Japan through an analysis of social media.
The professional hair segment Hair Shows Rendezvous will be fueled by two hair shows organised by Intercoiffure China and Shiseido Professional. For the first time, more than 2,000 hairdressers and salon owners from across the world will meet at Cosmoprof Asia. A themed hair show “Intercoiffure: Vision of the Elite” will be held on the 13th of November and Shiseido Professional will stage “Departure of Beauty” on the 14th of November.
