Dermalogica Australia invites all to attend an exclusive screening of the film Girl Rising on Wednesday October 30th.
Girl Rising is a global campaign for girls’ education – powered by girls, women, boys and men around the world who stand for equality. The accompanying feature film Girl Rising shows the meaning behind this. Featuring stories of 9 girls around the world and narrated by renowned actors such as Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, the film seeks to communicate a critical truth – educate girls and you will change the world.
October 11th was the International Day of the Girl, a movement and fight for girls’ rights and equality around the world.
In celebration of both Girl Rising and International Day of the Girl, Dermalogica will be opening up their head offices in Crows Nest for an exclusive screening of the film Girl Rising.
This evening will raise awareness for girls’ education and clarity to what is actually happening around the world. Often protected by our Western comfort bubbles, we fail to see the injustice girls around the world face everyday. Child marriage, sex trafficking and unequal access to education are just some of the problems keeping young women from achieving their potential.
Dermalogica will also be raising funds for local organisation SISTER2sister Program with a $10 donation from each guest on the night.
“Having already achieved so much on an international level with FITE, including fulfilling 36, 819 microloans (and counting) for women in developing countries, Dermalogica wanted to continue FITE by localizing the initiative on a local scale for underprivileged women and children,” said Kelly Salter, Dermalogica PR and consumer marketing coordinator.
“To celebrate this new platform, we are hosting an exclusive screening of the powerful film Girl Rising and ask that all Attendee’s help support us in raising much-needed funds for the SISTER2Sister Program to continue it’s invaluable work with young Australian women.”
