Renowned for her cutting edge designs, Australian fashion designer Kym Ellery’s clothes have appeared on catwalks around the world. And now, Ella Bache clients will have front row seats to the latest looks from the label, all from the comfort of their salon chair, writes Nadia Stennett.
It’s not every day that facials meet high fashion, but this November, that’s exactly what Ella Bache plans to bring about, as the rejuvenated brand reveals its latest makeover.
Renowned Australian designer Kym Ellery, whose high fashion designs have appeared on everyone from Madonna to Cate Blanchett, has partnered with Ella Bache in a bold move to reshape the salon experience for clients and staff alike.
“The opportunity to renew the Ella Bache salon owner, managers’ and therapists’ uniforms came about as part of our re-branding activity, which commenced late last year with the launch of our sophisticated new positioning and campaign images,” explains Ella Bache CEO Pippa Hallas.
“It was meant to be. Kym Ellery had initially approached us to do a collaboration of some sort due to her passion for the brand. With Kym’s design credentials, she was the obvious choice to help us define the new image of our therapists,” says Hallas.
“…Renewing the uniforms was also about designing an ensemble that would empower and champion our network of therapists. Our expert therapists are the heart of the brand, and it’s our role to make them feel inspired to be the best they can.”
The new look uniforms, which will roll out in over 130 Ella Bache salons and David Jones stores Australia-wide this November, feature sleek separates in Ellery’s trademark silhouette style, including a bespoke chevron print scarf. And while they may make the salon experience decidedly more eye-catching for clients, Hallas says the key motivating factor behind the uniform upgrade was all about inspiring her staff.
“Renewing the uniforms was also about designing an ensemble that would empower and champion our network of therapists. Our expert therapists are the heart of the brand, and it’s our role to make them feel inspired to be the best they can, which is what we believe the new Ellery ensembles deliver.”
