What is it? How is it used?
The jane iredale mineral foundations portfolio consists of five high-performance mineral bases that offer an array of different finishes, luxurious textures and excellent coverage.
- Amazing Base Loose Mineral Powder SPF 20: Provides sheer to medium coverage with a luminous finish. It contains extracts of sea minerals to help to soothe skin and aid in hydration.
- PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation SPF 20: Provides a sheer to medium coverage with a semi-matte finish. It is water resistant up to 40 minutes and contains antioxidants such as Pine Bark Extract and Pomegranate Extract.
- Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream SPF 25: A moisture-rich full-coverage foundation that helps to cover blemishes, minimise the appearance of pores and wrinkles and provide a radiant finish.
- Liquid Minerals: A light-reflecting, mineral foundation in a special liquid formulation. It provides sheer to medium coverage and contains active skin care ingredients Coenzyme Q10, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C which are time released into the skin.
- Dream Tint Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15: An oil free formula containing lightweight minerals that not only hydrates and provides sheer to medium coverage, but helps to reduce the effects of trans-epidermal water loss.
What features distinguish the product from competitors?
We incorporate skin care benefits into all of our formulations with botanical extracts, pharmaceutical grade vitamins and antioxidants while eliminating common cosmetic ingredients that can potentially irritate the skin. We combine beauty with skin health and clean ingredients; our products are free from fillers, such as talc, and do not contain synthetic fragrance or bismuth oxychloride, both of which can cause skin irritation. As we only use purified micronised mineral pigments the foundations provide exceptional coverage and require minimal touch ups.
jane iredale products are safety tested, clinically tested and dermatologist tested to ensure avoidance of any ingredients that may be skin sensitisers. Laboratory tests confirm that all of our products are non-comedogenic and do not block pores. Problematic skin types will benefit from using jane iredale products and most cases find that the appearance of their skin starts to improve almost immediately.
What benefit does it offer the beauty professional?
jane iredale was first to supply the medical and aesthetic industry with a full line of chemical-free makeup over 22 years ago. Dermatologists, plastic surgeons and skin therapists worldwide use and recommend jane iredale products post-procedure. jane iredale is a true extension of skin care and professionals can confidently prescribe their clients with jane iredale products alongside skin care and professional skin treatments knowing that jane iredale won’t hinder results.
The inclusions of natural ingredients help to calm and soothe skin after procedures such as laser resurfacing and chemical peels. Only a small amount of the concentrated mineral pigment is required to provide unsurpassed coverage that looks smooth and natural. Skin imperfections are easily disguised without the worry of occlusive, sensitising ingredients that will only exasperate problematic or sensitised skin and such coverage is necessary for camouflaging skin conditions such as rosacea, acne and/or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
What benefit does it offer the consumer?
jane iredale foundations support the results consumers expect from professionally prescribed products. Our foundations form a protective barrier on the skin that allows it to breathe and function normally. Laboratory tests confirm that all of our products are non-comedogenic and do not block pores. Our foundations are also cruelty-free, vegan-friendly and great at multitasking by providing four important functions in one: foundation, powder, concealer and broad spectrum sunscreen (with the exception of Liquid Minerals).
Are there design/compliance elements that make it stand out?
Apart from mandatory tests including Sunscreen, Stability, and Preservative Efficacy, we also conduct voluntary tests that include the Human Repeat Insult Patch Test (irritancy and sensitivity test), Comedogenicity Testing, Heavy-metal Testing and Photosensitivity.
