Issada for Camilla Franks

Issada was again selected as makeup partner for Camilla Franks’ ‘Pachamama’ show at the Identity event in Brisbane.

The event, held at Treasury Casino and Hotel was attended by Queensland’s fashion elite and showcased Camilla’s latest collection while raising funds for the Prevent Blindness Foundation & the Queensland Eye Institute.

With Identity marking the second collaboration for the Issada and Camilla, the designer attributes the working relationship to a shared vision and Issada’s ability to interpret the brief.

“For the makeup I was inspired by Mother Nature, or as the Incas call her – ‘Pachamama’. Issada cosmetics helped recreate our fashion week look that pays homage to Mother Nature herself,” said Camilla Franks.

The makeup brief was far from simple, with some models sporting intricate facial tattooing in a nod to Australian artist Vali Myers. Other models had delicate gold tribal-inspired foiling featured out from eyes to temples.

“The Issada creative team relishes an artistic brief that challenges and extends us as makeup artists, and we were so excited when we saw Camilla’s brief because we knew how creatively fulfilling it would be,” Fiona Neale, CEO of Issada said.

“Referencing Australian art icon Vali Myers was a thrill – we loved painting on the intricate facial tattoos. Each one had to be slightly different and customised to suit the face contour of each model.”

The facial tattooing was done using the Issada Indelible Gel Eyeliner with a super fine #3 brush. The skin was kept dewy and the lips were stained with a natural coral pink for a just-bitten look.

“The whole effect was raw, fierce and tribal. We loved helping bring Camilla’s Pachamama goddesses to life,” Fiona said.

Issada will be working with Identity again later this year.
