Jellaine Ross, Finalist for Business Award

Jellaine Ross, 30-year-old mum and Brisbane entrepreneur has been selected as finalist in the Young Business Woman of the Year category of the Telstra Queensland Business Women’s Awards.

Jellaine is one of 6 finalists in her category, and her recognition is for her brush-on eyelash extension business – Cherry Blooms. The product was featured in the 2013 Oscars gift bags for celebrity guests.

“I am humbled to be a finalist in such a coveted awards program and hope to inspire other women to start to grow their businesses. My mantra to success has always been ‘just do it’- setting goals, thinking big, acting quickly and believing that you can do anything,” said Jellaine.

“This opportunity gives my brand continuous exposure. I plan to make Cherry Blooms an Australian-recognised brand which will be loved and known by women for clever functional fashion and cutting-edge beauty solutions,” she said

The Queensland Telstra Business Women’s Awards seek to celebrate and recognise the hard work of business women in Queensland. It presents a great platform for women to connect and inspire, especially those in their entrepreneurial pursuits.

“For 19 years we’ve run the awards to inspire leading business women to realise their potential and celebrate their success. We believe the 2013 Queensland finalists are entrepreneurs, innovator and managers who can inspire our nation and the following generation,” said Kate McKenzie, ambassador of the Telstra Business Woman’s Awards.

For Jellaine, being in the running for this award means influencing others: “I hope to inspire others on how to take their products to a global level from hearing my story”.

Winners of the 2013 Telstra Queensland Business Women’s Awards will be announced Tuesday 17th September, in Brisbane. The Queensland winners will proceed to the national finals in Melbourne on 14th November.
