Get ready to soak up as much knowledge as you can with celebrity, fashion and lifestyle makeup artist Rachael Brook at Nuvocca Beauty College Parramatta’s open day.
Brook started her career assisting makeup icon Rae Morris when she was just 15, and has gone on to forge a career filled with enviable highlights. She has worked with high profile Australian celebrities, magazines and brands, and is eager to share her tips for making it in the industry that she loves.
“I’m obsessed with this industry and I love sharing my passion for beauty with others,” she says. “I’m a very creative person and I get a high off creating beautiful images and helping women achieve their beauty goals.”
For those wanting to succeed in beauty, Brook has this advice: “Get as much experience as you can. I assisted a makeup artist for four years before considering myself an artist in my own right. That was possibly an excessive amount of time to assist but it was beyond worth it.”
Nuvocca Parramatta campus manager, Angel Hanna, is excited to welcome Brook to the college’s new state of the art campus, saying she is a fantastic role model for students.
“Rachael is extremely talented and also very passionate about what she does,” says Hanna. “I think it will be a great opportunity for our students to meet her and hear the steps that she took to be where she is today.”
Leading beauty brands Dermalogica, Limelily Cosmetics and Results Laser Clinics will be presenting alongside Brook at the open day, as well as Onboard Spa by Steiner, which employs beauty therapists for cruise liners.
With presentations and workshops, there will be lots of information to gobble up, and the event aims to showcase all the different pathways available to students studying a diploma of beauty therapy.
“There are so many different careers within the beauty industry,” says Hanna. “It really is a diverse sector and we want to showcase that to our students and to those interested in starting out in the beauty world.”
