CND artists unleashed their creative juices at the Michael Van Der Ham Spring/Summer show – creating nail art as intricate as the clothes.
Held at Hotel Café Royal in London on the 16th of September, CND co-founder Jan Arnold and her team collaborated with the fashion brand to create nails that reflected the intricate art and print displayed in the clothes.
The Michael Van Der Ham collection mixed the traditional with the modern – a melting pot of lady-like sheers, floral, lace meshed with hard textured metallics, jacquards and sporadic pops of bright colour. The colour palette was muted and dark, with a splash of aqua, yellow, orange and white on the foreground.
“Michael’s couture fabrics and his modern take on femininity are both classic and inventive – they inspire us to create true works of art,” Jan Arnold said.
“His collection ties in beautifully with our spring trend ‘Open Road’ – which consists of time-worn pastels for the modern muse. This girl is free-spirited and spontaneous with an eclectic edge.”
CND reflected the mixed palette of colours and texture in the clothing and transferred them on to the nails in a tutti-fruity of the colour palette from each outfit. Models wore nails according to their outfit – some with a mix of dark blues and some with blurred-out yellow florals.
Creating depth with colour and contrast, CND proves yet again their skill in creating breathtaking art on such a small canvas.
