Starting out
I trained in Sydney with Richard Sharah, a well-known makeup artist, and then went to Asia. Being able to do both hair and makeup opened the door to more opportunities for me; I did fashion shows, advertising, stills, TV commercials and wig work. I also did a lot of work for a production company called House of Sirens. Some of the shows included Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Cartier.
Highlights
Some of my career highlights have included working and being inspired by other creative people. Working overseas was also a great experience, as was NYFW. It is good to do creative makeup but I prefer natural makeup, particularly for brides. I also enjoy creating a concept.
Beauty icons
My fashion icons include Christy Turlington and Grace Kelly.
Inspiration
I get my inspiration from international magazines such as French Vogue, online and by being open to what’s on the street.
