Bodyography are now accepting entries for its 2011 Make Up Artist of the Year competition, aptly named “So You Think You Can Make Up?” With over $20,000 worth of prizes for the most creative artists, it's a competition well worth being part of.
With a desire to be the most sort after make up artist award in Australia, the emphasis of the 2011 competition is to keep artistry ‘true’ with no computer retouching, or computer air-brushing allowed. Models are to be free of any permanent make up, tattooed eyebrows and eyelids although false lashes, shimmer dust and accessories are permitted. Artists are also required to provide photos of the models prior to work and also during the make-over process.
In 2011 two new categories have been created, one to select the Make Up Artist Of The Year and another to push imagination to its limits. The first category is Front Cover Fashion, where artists are asked to think about 2012 trends and then design a finished high-fashion glamorous look taking inspiration from New York Fashion Week, front covers of past Vogue magazines, or Bodyography poster girls.
The second category is titled Create Your Own Super Hero or Villain. Within this category artists are able to let their imagination and creativity run wild, giving a hero or villain a name and explaining the inspiration behind the creation. This category is optional and does not go towards scoring in deciding the Make Up Artist of the year however a winner will be decided and receive a host of prizes.
Bodyography’s Make Up Artist of the Year competition offers over $20,000 value in prizes, including a three-page shoot and spread in Professional Beauty and INSTYLE magazines; $2,500 worth of Bodyography product; a three-minute clip to be shot in the Bodyography studio and aired on Fashion TV; $1,500 worth of Prolash products and education; a $4,000 package from Silk Road on Collins which includes a $2,000 bar tab for the winner and nine friends; limo transfers and flights for the winner if based outside of Melbourne; $700 worth of Free Energy Drink and 10 cases of Aqua Linea water.
Bodyography’s Make Up Artist of the Year competition is open to everyone in the industry regardless of preferred brand used with the only requirement that one Bodyography product is used in the shoot – entrants are supplied with a starter kit on registration.
Competition entries close on November 18, 2011 with the winner announced in December 2011.
