Celebrity hair and makeup artist, Dale Dorning was wielding his makeup kit and brushes for the women of Adelaide in late April, offering complimentary 20-minute makeup consultations as part of the Westfield West Lakes Style Lounge.

Dale’s realistic approach to beauty and reputation for his progressive, fresh and effortless approach to makeup and its artistry, had women flocking to his Style Lounge makeup bar. Using a selection of products from Napoleon Perdis, INGLOT and The Body Shop, Dale expertly shared his tips and techniques for achieving the ‘perfect’ makeup, every time.
The concept of the Style Lounge is the ideal environment for women to be educated, updated and guided, in a try before you buy situation. It companions clothing, shapes, and silhouettes with tools and techniques.
“It was a fantastic opportunity to meet women who were open and happy to ask questions about makeup and it’s application,” says Dale. “Their reactions to their own appearance during the makeup application and when I had finished were brilliant, and it really allowed them to see that with the right products and tools, you can achieve great makeup – in just 20 minutes.”
Many women were eager to learn the secrets to achieving ‘fit skin’ and how to custom-mix their foundations, to deliver a flawless, seamless complexion with each application: “Women were commenting on how their skin felt – namely, how it felt like they were wearing no makeup – once shown the correct application method(s),” says Dale. “Even little things like the perfect eye liner application surprised women as their eyes looked lifted and framed like never before.”
