Last week, Gorgeous Cosmetics’ elite makeup artist team transformed runway models for the Kookai Autumn/Winter 2013 Runway Show, entitled ‘The Colour of Night.’
Event organisers approached Gorgeous Cosmetics to come on board as makeup sponsor for the new season collection launch, making it the second year in a row the brands have paired up.
Six Gorgeous Cosmetics Makeup Artists worked alongside the L’Oreal hairdressing team backstage to create high fashion, statement looks for the show. With eighteen models in total, including top model Nicole Trunfio, Gorgeous were excited to partner with the glamorous Kookai team once again.
Head Makeup Artist for Gorgeous Cosmetics, Marika Chen, said the models were given a very on trend makeup look for the Kookai runway, “Crimson lips were the feature point, and were achieved by using Gorgeous Cosmetics’ ‘Siren’ Red Lip Pencil to line and fill in lips, followed by new Gorgeous Lipstick shade ‘Lola’ over the top.”
The models’ flawless, dewy skin caught the light on the runway and was created with a trio of base products – First Base Primer, Base Perfect Liquid Foundation and Powder Perfect Pressed Powder. Sculpted and contoured cheeks are an autumn trend, and were created using Endless Summer Bronzer and Colour Pro Blush in ‘Sesame’. Simple lashes and brows completed the look, with a swish of Gorgeous’ Glamalash Mascara, Nouveaux Brow Pencil and Brow Fix Gel.
“This look is in line with international Autumn/Winter trends, so I’m certain we’ll be seeing it and off the runway over the coming months. The bold lips added a vampish style to the textured rich tones of the Kookai fashion pieces, which included leather and lace.”
Marika said the atmosphere backstage at the Kookai Runway Show was fast paced but fun, “We loved working with the stylists and hair team, and especially the Kookai models. They were huge fans of the Gorgeous ‘Siren’ Lip Pencil and the ‘Lola’ Lipstick, and were all amazed at how well it stayed on their lips, even after meals!”
