On the 30th of July, Chi, The Spa at Shangri-La Sydney welcomed beauty media to relax and meditate with Australian brand Sodashi.
Beginning with a tour of the spa and refreshments, Chi was filled with a faint aromatic scent that helped to calm the mind before commencing the presentation. The event was held in 2 different time slots, the morning and afternoon.
To help guests learn about the Sodashi range, Megan Larson, founder of Sodashi, delighted them with interactive activities. Before her brief on the history of the brand, Megan invited media to place all technology on the ground and focus on calming the mind to the Gandharva Veda music playing. This is the same music that is played at the Sodashi manufacturing facilities on every day – “it helps to increase the coherence in both buildings and people,” said Megan.
A unique quality to Sodashi is the brand’s emphasis on meditation – “at Sodashi we meditate every day, we come together at 3 o’clock, stop work and meditate for 20 minutes. It helps to create a positive environment and, as a company that does all of our own manufacturing, I do think that all the energy that goes in to the products actually comes out the other end,” Megan said.
Sodashi products are all made from essential oils and Megan takes particular care into the different grades of ingredients she puts into the products. “We always ensure we use the best grade of essential oils because I believe that the difference in the products speak for themselves,” she said. Sixteen different types of essential oils were presented on a large counter and guests had the opportunity to learn about the brand and ingredients by interacting with them. The beauty media each created their own pulse-point blend to cater to their personal needs – whether it was to calm or energise. Megan walked each guest through the process and gave advice on the appropriate scent and their properties.
The event ended with fruits, sweets and custom-made mocktails inspired by the flavours of Chi and Sodashi,
Sodashi is a chemical-free wellbeing brand tailored for luxury. “The Shangri-La Hotel is confident in this partnership as it signifies our move towards a more Australian-inspired spa. Chi is traditionally based on Chinese philosophy, but now we’re extremely proud to say that we only stock Australian products and Sodashi is our hero product range,” said Jessica Somers, director of communications at Shangri-La Hotel Sydney.
