Australia’s first multicultural hair and beauty trade show will be held in Parramatta on Saturday November 16.
The Multi-Ethnicity Hair & Beauty Expo is Australia’s first ethic trade show dedicated to people from Africa, Diaspora and other ethnic groups. In a city as culturally diverse as Sydney, there are limited products and services specially targeted at these groups. Often resorting to mixing-and-matching products to work, they are a rising market that needs attention.
The expo aims to offer a public platform for all ethnic hair, beauty, fashion and products. Bringing together specialty businesses and services, the expo will help educate, encourage and empower the attendees about the beauty of diversity.
“In this event we will not only showcase ethnic-tailored products but also, more importantly, provide a platform for young and talented women to be inspired and pursue their dreams,” said Maame Afiriyie, event coordinator for the Multi-Ethnicity Hair & Beauty Expo.
“This Expo is a social enterprise project where all the proceeds will be poured back into other projects that seek to benefit young men and women from diverse ethnic backgrounds in the community.”
Hair demonstrations and competitions, fashion shows, makeovers and live entertainment will also be offered on the day.
Bringing together beauty professionals, health professionals, hairdressers, retailers, TAFE students, distributors and wholesalers, the expo offers businesses a platform to enter into this niche market.
All attendees will be welcomed with a gift bag.
Sponsored by the Parramatta Community Migrant Resource Centre, the Expo is an event free for all.
