The other big winner at the GNDA was VIVid Nails which won the Nail Training School of Excellence Award “based on the overall points accumulated by the novice competitors that completed their nail training through the academy”.
According to event organiser Viv Simmonds, the Awards were launched to “create a renewed excitement and buzz” in the Australian nail industry.
“Internationally, nail competitions are held quite frequently and competing is held in a high regard,” she said.
“The most sought after and well known nail artists in the world more often than not hold an impressive nail competition profile.”
She said the introduction of the GNDA, would ensure that it would not be long before Australia (which was already “lucky enough” to have the Reed Exhibitions Nail Awards and the APAA Australian Nail Cup) is recognised as a country with a strong competition arena and nail artists that rank amongst the best on the international competition circuit”.
