Nail technicians looking for a “worldwide platform” to showcase their talents are invited to enter the 2018 Nailympia Australasia competition.
Organised by Beauty Expo Australia, in partnership with Nailympia London (organisers of the nail industry’s leading global competition), Nailympia Australasia will be held at Beauty Expo Australia on September 8 and 9.
Beauty Expo Australia event director Cory Watson says the competition is expected to attract “some of the most talented nail technicians in the industry”.
The competition, which has three divisions so competitors of varying experience levels can enter, includes four pre-prepared categories (3D Mixed Media Boxed, Photographic, Flat Art and Runway Nails) as well as the following live competitions:
- UV Soak Off Gel Manicure
- UV Gel Tip + Overlay
- L&P Acrylic Sculpture
- Perfect Match
- Stiletto Nails
- Reality Nails
- Salon Nails
- Fantasy Complete Look
The entries will be judged by a panel of nail experts ‒ Alex Fox (UK), Rachel Stevens (NZ), Mirka Poikkeus (Finland), Sarah Ison (Australia), Elaine Watson (US), Alisha Rimando (US), Samantha Goddard (Australia), Marian Newman (UK).
Watson says the competition “gives nail technicians from across Australia the opportunity to showcase their talent and shine a light on an awe-inspiring industry”.

Entries for the competition are now open and close on August 28.
