OPI Struts Down the Catwalk

OPI demonstrated a large presence at the 2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia featuring on the hand and toes at 21 designer shows.

The catwalk collections for Spring/Summer featured mainly white and sorbet pastel shades. Chartreuse was the key colour that featured throughout the week, alongside peplum detail, pencil skirts, sequins and sophisticated athletic inspired outfits. Silk dresses with Asian inspired floral prints and other interesting geometric prints in an assortment of pastel palettes were also showcased alongside pops of navy blue, pink and green.

To compliment, nails were a huge feature this year with designers recognising the importance of nails as a fashion accessory. Vibrant big nails were popular with many designers opting for colour and nail art.

OPI’s vibrant yellow/green chartreuse Did it On Em was chosen by designers Manning Cartell and Aurellio Costella. White lacquer shades were also popular with many designers choosing OPI’s Alpine Snow or Don’t Touch My Tutu as it complemented their predominantly white on white collection. Designers included Carla Zampatti, Zimmerman, Bec & Bridge and Manning Cartell.

The new nail trend featured at Fashion Week was the reverse French Manicure, nude or white nails with coloured tips, as seen at Carla Zampatti and Lisa Ho.
