When Ottoman3 founder Mini Latif heard that singer Beyonce had to bring her own manicurist from the USA to apply Minx nails for her Australian concerts, Latif travelled to the States herself to see what all the fuss was about.
Now the Victoria-based nail and brow bar says it is the first major nail bar in Australia to take on the US range.
Minx is a nail covering that dispenses with polish, fumes and dry waiting time. It offers the flexibility of a nail covering in numerous fashion-forward designs.
“Honestly, it has been a while since l have seen a craze for a service for nails that really has people stopping in their tracks,” said Latif. “The effect of the nail covering is so eye-catching and fabulously chic in design that you just want it on your feet and hands.”
According to Latif, Minx lasts on hands for around five to ten days and on feet for around four to six weeks.
The brand cites Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Rhianna as some of the celebrity fans and anticipates that its popularity will grow now that Minx is available in Australia through distributor, Switch Funky.
Ottoman3 Nail and Brow Bar opened in 2009 in Myer, Highpoint, Victoria. Minx nails launched at Ottoman3 in December 2009.
