Naturex, a French manufacturer of natural specialty ingredients has launched a comprehensive sustainability program.
Naturex is a global company that specialises in plant-based natural ingredients that caters to the food, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
The company has recently undergone a change in operations with new practices based around environmental and humanitarian respect. Naturex has implemented a comprehensive program to define and expand sustainable practices.
A field-to-finish approach: gathering a multi-disciplinary team from all aspects of Naturex operations, a dedicated sustainability committee is driving the entire program and has developed a specific set of sustainability principles for the company. The committee ensures that all aspects of day-to-day business operations and growth strategy are conducted in accordance with set principles.
An ongoing program: in addition to strengthening the company’s environmental stewardship, economic prosperity and social responsibility initiatives, the program will expand the scope of these activities. The company has appointed Chris Kilham as Naturex ‘sustainability ambassador’ – he is known for his practices that honour the environment and traditional cultures.
“Sustainable practices are not optional for our industry. Naturex is very well-positioned to drive improvements in ethical and responsible business practices across the entire value chain. It is both an opportunity and a responsibility for us to enhance our commitments in this field,” Serge Sabrier, chairman of the sustainability committee said.
