OPI’s creations for New York Fashion Week this year stamped a seal of approval on the sweet nothings of elegant nudes, contrasting geometric tips and bold summer brights.
Flowing on from the first two days, the trend for natural colours became firmly established. Made to complement every style and daring couture – the nude look strutted down the runways at numerous show.
On day 3 of NYFW, OPI created a soft sheer nude manicure with a slight pink-tinge for the Hervé Léger show. Both nails and toes were painted with OPI’s Barre My Soul – adding softness to the zippers, ruffles and beading in the clothes.
OPI then joined designer Jeremy Laing for his spring 2014 collection that saw an abundance of sheer fabrics in a 1990s summer vibe. The colour used was My Pointe Exactly – an ethereal sheer grey lacquer.
On the evening of the 4th day, OPI branched out from the nude looks and went for a bold and loud yellow at the Joanna Mastroianni show. Making reference to the striking tangerine, yellow and aquamarine from the clothes, OPI’s bright yellow Need Sunglasses? made for an eye-popping show full of colour and vibrance.
Day 5 at the Holmes & Yang show OPI trended the hot new sidewards French Manicure with a sheer creamy off-white called So Many Clowns…So Little Time and a deep blue for the slanted tip using OPI’s I Saw…U Saw…We Saw…Warsaw. Models also wore the blue colour on their toes.
A sheer pastel pink with OPI’s You Callin’ Me a Lyre evoked 70s glam at Reem Acra’s evening show on day 5. Intricate, tight and uniform curls for the hair was balanced with a fresh-face and clean nails.
On 7th and last day of New York Fashion Week, OPI’s Mediterranean-inspired French tips at the JOIE show mirrored the collection’s white palette. Models wore a glossy coat of OPI Top Coat with a thin strip of white tip using OPI’s Alpine Snow. Keeping with the nude trend seen throughout the week, toes were painted with the subtle Coney Island Cotton Candy.
