Led by the talented Amber D, MAC went bold and bright for the Zambesi show at New Zealand Fashion Week.
Making references to the rebel within, Amber D’s Zambesi creature at New Zealand Fashion Week was a daring palette of colour and texture – revealing the unapologetically strong and fierce Zambesi woman.
The persona of the Zambesi Autumn Winter collection transgresses stereotypes and gender – mixing the unmixable and choosing to break all the rules. Leather on leather and print on print, the sombre-toned show also included eclectic flashes of red and print.
Interpreting all this – MAC’s mastermind Amber D matched an apple-ripe plump lip with icy-green eyes. Nails were also done by MAC with a custom blend of Spirit of Truth, Vestral White and Deep Sea MAC Nail Lacquers for a flash-blue manicure.
The inspiration behind this looks was “dimensional makeup playing with texture and tone, referencing the python in the accessories”.
