Two beauty industry suppliers have joined forces to launch Australia’s “first and only buying, support and education group for salon and clinic owners”.
Clairderm sales and training manager Sara Whithorn and Beyond Bronze owner Marissa Warren launched Australian Beauty Collective this month to “provide innovative, profitable and online protected solutions for clinic and salon owners”.
The Collective, which was established with founding partners Pauline and Steve Valle (Ultraderm), Nikki L’Wren (Spa & Salon Divas ) and Jean Clare (life coach), aims to specialise in “Australian-made and -owned products and services offering never seen before value and collaborations”.
ABC’s initial brand offering features Clairderm Medical Aesthetics, Ultraderm, Beyond Bronze, Spa & Salon Divas and Jean Clare but is expected to expand rapidly as the collective is “in talks with other leading education providers and brands”.
According to Whithorn, the collective’s mission is “to provide ethical, high quality Australian aesthetics products, equipment, training and support at the best prices available on the market, with no compromise on quality”.
“By pooling our resources together, we [suppliers] can pass on more value to our members on a number of levels.”
ABC will only partner with Australian brands as they are “cutting-edge and results-driven”.
“At the recent beauty expos it was evident that the most popular exhibitors were Australian suppliers,” said Whithorn.
“Salon owners seek out Australian brands for their businesses as we are here when they need us.
“Australia is remote from the rest of the world, and there’s a need to have support after each sale… most imported products can’t offer that support.”
Whithorn also stressed that many Australian salon and clinic owners have concerns about “inferior imported products”.
“Imported products, equipment and services aren’t at all inferior but there’s a large volume that are and, as an industry, we waste hundreds of thousands each year due to the lure of cheap imports.”
She concluded that the ABC would increase salon and clinic owners’ “confidence, trust, business growth and profits”.
“During a period of rapid industry growth and inconsistent state to state regulations, the ABC has united to provide clarity, support, guidance and ease of business operations to salon and clinic owners and provide an end- to-end solution.
“It is a clear focus to help businesses thrive and continue to grow.
“The Australian Beauty Collective isn’t about getting rich. We [suppliers] are putting some love back to our industry, and making it easier, and instilling confidence to both our fellow professionals, and our end customers.
“We are all really excited about our launch, and the incredible benefits that we will pass onto our members.”
ABC membership is free for 12 months.
The ABC”s launch and 1st symposium will be held on the Gold Coast on February 12.
