Professional Beauty caught up with Paige Powell, international educator for Glo.Therapeutics and Glo.Minerals on her recent trip to Australia announcing the brand’s new distributorship with True Solutions.
On July 3 beauty media were invited to Sheraton on the Park for the official announcement of the partnership between Glo and Australian distributor True Solutions. Between tea, coffee and scrumptious sweet treats, Paige Powell introduced Glo’s skincare and cosmetic range in-depth – focusing on the brand’s strict ingredient selection process and advocacy for skin health.
In Australia, Glo’s distributorship has recently changed from Auscos to True Solutions. A perfect fit for the True Solutions brand portfolio, the skincare and cosmetic brand looks forward to new beginnings down under. Professional Beauty caught up with Paige Powell to shed some light on the exciting journey ahead.
Briefly describe your journey with Glo and your career in the beauty industry
I started in the beauty industry 12 years ago, I came to Glo almost eight years ago and it’s been a wonderful experience. I love the products so it’s very easy to talk about something you love and use personally. You always have your own experience with the products to talk about and share – I find it makes all the difference in the world.
What challenges have you have faced in your 12 years?
The biggest challenge is making sure you are constantly researching and learning. The industry is always changing so staying up-to-date with what’s going on is really important – reading industry magazines, clinical studies, conducting your own research is. That way you can educate your clients and be prepared for their questions.
With True Solutions as the new distributor for Glo in Australia, what are you hoping to do differently in the market?
We definitely hope to see more growth here in Australia. True Solutions, as you know, does a fantastic job with the media – they really market the products through their wonderful team and promote the products directly to businesses. The products are already established in the country but we would like to see it more in the market. Since partnering with True Solutions we have had an increase in our stockists already!
In terms of education, will you be doing anything differently?
True Solutions will be handling training and education on a regular basis, and I’m here to help ensure everyone’s confident to do so. We are a brand who educates and trains our clients on a regular basis so they feel confident using and recommending products for their clients or patients.
Glo offers both skincare and cosmetics, do you find combining the two challenging or a natural transition?
I find it to be a very easy transition because they work so well together. We’ve designed the lines to work in combination with each other. The makeup looks and works better when you’re using the skincare so it’s definitely natural and easy to recommend both of the products.
A trend we are seeing with mineral brands lately is their foray into the fashion and colour world, is Glo also tapping into that trend?
Absolutely! We definitely believe in being fashion-forward. Glo.Minerals is clinical skincare with colour but it’s also an artistry brand so we do stand on the cutting edge, releasing new products regularly and ensuring all our colour cosmetics are highly pigmented.
What’s next on the Glo calendar?
We have some exciting launches coming up later in the year. We are always working on developing new products for skincare and makeup. We are, of course, working on our international distribution channel as well.
