Breakfast with The Jojoba Company

On the 1st of May, beauty editors gathered at Cafe Sydney for a breakfast with The Jojoba Company founders Vicki Engsall and Ian Turner.

The location overlooked the Sydney Harbour and the tables were adorned with fresh flowers – a perfect setting for a company who believes in the importance of natural remedies in an urban lifestyle.

Breakfast was served alongside an endless supply of coffee and rose tea. Pampering stations were set up on the balcony – offering everything from reflexology to a soothing manicure.

The Jojoba Company was founded by Vicki Engsall and her father Ian Turner. Ian Turner, his wife, and all three daughters were present at the event to celebrate the launch of their newest addition to the family – the Youth Potion.

The idea behind the brand began with Vicki’s maternity leave and her father’s vert first jojoba crop. Vicki became interested in natural skincare after the birth of her son Thomas, who was conceived using natural remedies and an organic lifestyle.

“I became an advocate for natural products,” said Vicki, “and it just so happened that while I was on maternity leave my father had his very first jojoba crop.”

The entire range of Jojoba skincare is based around the natural characteristics of the jojoba plant. According to Vicki, the jojoba plant produces wax esters that are found naturally in our skin. “Jojoba has a natural affinity with our skin,” said Vicki, “the skin recognises it as its own and lets it go right through to the skin matrix level.”

The new 100% Natural Ultimate Jojoba Youth Potion was created based around the main qualities of the jojoba plant. “What we’ve done is we enriched our jojoba with the full spectrum vitamins (a, b, c, d, e and f), the full spectrum of essential fatty acids (3, 6, and 9) and we’ve added lots and lots of antioxidants,” said Vicki.

The fragrance of this product comes from French Linden Blossoms, giving it a mild and sweet scent.
