Payot Paris gets onboard with Qantas

Qantas International Lounge (Sydney) was nominated as the Best Australian International Airport Lounge by the Australian Business Traveller Awards. Payot Paris has partnered with Qantas to offer travellers a top spa service both at the airport and in the sky.

Payot Paris' day spa offers a free range of treatments, including facials, massages and foot and leg wraps, as well as a superbly personal service.

The international lounge also has gourmet food, wine and service as you would expect from an up-market bistro, many dishes sharing ingredients from the restaurants of Qantas’s consulting chef Neil Perry.

David Flynn from Australian BT said, “Qantas’ flagship Sydney International First Lounge is world-class in every respect, and it’s a prized perk of Qantas Frequent Flyer Platinum members."

The lounge is also visually appealing with Marc Newson’s stunning architecture that includes dramatic wooden spars cambered like the inside of an airplane wing, which square off against the full-length windows overlooking the boarding gates and tarmac, with the Sydney skyline as backdrop. The lounge, designed by Marc Newson, was the culmination of a two year dream to build a world benchmark environment for Qantas customers.

At the opening of the lounge in 2007, Marc Newson said, “Because the lounge was built on the roof of the existing terminal there was very little restriction on design possibilities. The space was long and comparatively narrow so I wanted to divide it into ‘intimate sections’ including a library, work zones, two dining room sections, two private meeting rooms and a dining bar and spa. I wanted to create a sanctuary via Matt Blanc’s garden walls – these extend from the foyer to the spa.”

The spa features Swiss Quartz walls and garden installations and it has natural light. There are three treatment rooms and two relaxation rooms.

In addition to the spa, Payot products are the First  travellers' amenity kits on board all Qantas planes. The First travellers' bathroom cabins all have Payot Paris products too.

Rita Smith, Payot Paris Director (Australia) exclaimed, “We’re delighted to learn of this award. We have now worked with Qantas for the past four years. Our contract, as with all Qantas supplier contracts, came up for renewal and we’re thrilled to announce that Qantas surveyed its VIP customers and results showed our products were their preferred choice – in fact we beat our nearest competitor brand by 25%. Our contract was renewed and we look forward to a long and continuing successful partnership with Qantas."

“We continually upgrade the product in the Amenities kits. For example, we have just added some of our new Hydra24 products to the kits so Qantas First travellers have 24 hour skin hydration – from takeoff to destination,” she added.
