The Startup Collective will be holding a two-day seminar in Sydney next month to help beauty industry start-ups turns their dreams into reality.
According to the Collective, the ‘Switch it On’ seminar is designed for people who want to launch their own beauty business/brand but don’t know where to start – as well as for those who have taken the first steps in establishing their new ventures but don’t know how to progress.
Topics to be covered in the seminar include:
- Trademarks
- Money matters
- Global trends (hair and skincare)
- Formulating
- Exporting (UK and EU focus)
- Project management
- Product testing
- Website design
- Digital marketing and social media
- Packaging trends
Co-founded by Marguerite Capezio, Rita Sellars and Belinda Barsoom, who have over 60 years combined experience in “formulating, marketing and designing”, The Startup Collective aims to help people create the beauty businesses they want.
Capezio said that during their careers all three women have heard about “exciting and innovative ideas” from their clients but many of these were extinguished as “many of them could not navigate through the complexities of bringing a product from idea to market”.
“Many clients had their limited resources (time and money) depleted before making significant progress,” she said.
“We therefore set up The Startup Collective to assist and ensure their resources are used in the correct areas for product and brand success.”
She said that the Switch It On seminar will provide attendees with “a rounded, informative view to navigate the complexities needed to bring their ideas to market”.
The Switch it On seminar will be held at Rowers on Cooks River in Sydney on October 17 and 18.
