Last month, Fake Bake UK held their first Glitz and Glamour Ball in association with Fake Bake’s Save Your Skin Campaign.
The red carpet was bustling with UK celebrities coming along to show their support for the campaign including Amy Childs and Harry Derbridge of The Only Way is Essex, Geordie Shore’s Greg and author and campaigner Katie Piper (Katie Piper: My Beautiful Face).
Other UK models and celebrities from Desperate Scousewives, Sky Sports, The Apprentice and Dancing with the Stars all made their appearance.
The ball raised vital funds for RAFT (Restoration of Appearance and Function Trust) – a specialist skin research charity who do vital research into the causes and treatments for skin cancer and the Donna Mortimer-Ballantyne Trust. Donna was a close friend of Fake Bake CEO Sandra who died from skin cancer last year, aged 39. Throughout her nine year battle with the illness Donna campaigned about sun safety in order that other people would not have to suffer from the illness.

Sandra told us “I started the Save Your Skin Campaign as there has been a skin cancer scare in my own family. I was sad to lose my good friend Donna last year – she was an inspiration to me and I know she would be proud of the work that goes on in her name. I am also delighted to be supporting the groundbreaking work that RAFT do – they are experts in their field and we are proud to be associated with their work. To see all the team, friends, family and all our celeb supporters here tonight is such a special time – it gave us all the chance to have a red carpet moment!”
Once the formalities were out of the way everyone threw caution to the wind, designer heels were thrown off as everyone hit the dancefloor – no one was bothered about looking cool they were far too busy having a good time! Infact, everyone had such a great time that Fake Bake are planning to do it all again next year.
