Tomorrow’s Future Today is an education event that celebrates 30 years of The International Dermal Institute.

The International Dermal Institute celebrates 30 years of providing quality education and support for skin therapists. “From Brisbane to Belfast to Boston, The International Dermal Institute trains over 75,000 professional skin therapists every year,” said Jane D. Wurwand, founder of The International Dermal Institute.

“For over 30 years, we’ve pushed skin therapist education to its limits, literally redefining professional excellence and offering skin therapists a unique opportunity to reach their personal best in the process,” she added.

Tomorrow’s Future Today is an education event with a line-up of expert guest speakers. Topics include the latest in cosmetic surgery, the art of effective communication, dealing with difficult clients, ingredients, how to sell to the most powerful consumer on earth and the latest insights into oncology and the skin.

Guest speakers:

Babara Warren – Clear speech is athletic – keep training (morning session)

Director of Dramatic Difference Training, Barbara Warren believes that face-to-face communication is most effective when it is imaginative, concise and of comprehensive relevance to the audience. Her creative session will focus on achieving maximum communication impact by instilling inroads to greater imagination, clarity and substance.

Eleanor Shakiba – Dealing with difficult people (afternoon session)

As the Creative Director of Think Learn Succeed, Eleanor has dealt with angry clients, difficult team members and demanding bosses. There are special and unique skills required in dealing with these people and Eleanor seeks to equip people in this session.

Dr Mariusz Gajewski – Merging trends in cosmetic medicine (morning session)

Dr Mariusz Gajewski has had more than 18 years of experience in cosmetic medicine and is a qualified doctor specialising in intensive care. He is the owner of Star Cosmetic Medicine and is regularly featured in the media including Today Tonight and Channel Nine News. Dr Mariusz, in this session, will enthuse and educate in the latest new cosmetic trends for 2013.

Emma Hobson – Welcome and How to Sell the Most Powerful Consumer on Earth (morning and afternoon session)

Emma is the Educational Manager for The International Dermal Institute (Australia, Asia and New Zealand) and an expert in effective selling. Her afternoon session will take you through the mind of an ‘expert female shopper’. Emma will be considering the female demographic landscape when it comes to purchasing decisions, how a woman thinks and acts when it comes to making purchases, what is important to the female buyer and what silent buying signals are.

Claire Crouch – Onconlogy and the skin (morning session)

Claire is the Corporate Training Specialist for The International Dermal Institute Australia and she will be speaking on how to support cancer patients undergoing skin treatments. She aims to educate on the side effects of oncology, the importance of consultations and what questions to ask, review drugs that react to certain skincare products, how the skin reacts to cancer therapies, treatment protocols, safety considerations, product selection and homecare.

Dr Diana Howard – The ageing skin ingredient revolution (afternoon session – via podcast)

Dr Diana Howard is the Vice President of Global Education, Research and Development for The International Dermal Institute. In this podcast (streaming from the US) she will talk about peptides in the skin ageing and pigmentation market.

Tomorrow’s Future Today will be held on the 23rd of September 2013, from 9am to 4pm.
