Salons are doubling their monthly wax orders as clients line up to get hair-free for some Valentine’s Day romance.
Let’s face it, there’s nothing more unromantic than leg stubble. And as the day of ultimate romance approaches, clients are booking up salons to ensure that prickly problem doesn’t interfere with their plans.
Brazilian Beauty is one of many salons doubling its monthly wax order in preparation for Valentine’s Day.
Brazilian Beauty CEO and founder Francesca Webster says the annual day of love rivals events like Melbourne Cup and New Year’s Eve when it comes to salon traffic.
“Our clients live busy lifestyles but Valentine’s Day is a stand out day where women and men will go all out and take the time to book in with us to feel amazing and confident for their partners,” Webster says.
The salon owner says she’s already seen client numbers increase by 30 per cent in the first week of February. And it’s not just loved-up men and women lining up for waxing.
The most popular treatments in the lead up to Valentine’s Day each year are waxing, spray tanning, eyelash extensions and facials
“We also see many singles treating themselves to some ‘self-love’ during this period. When the day comes around everyone wants to feel confident no matter what their relationship status,” emphasises Webster.
The most popular treatments in the lead up to Valentine’s Day each year are waxing, spray tanning, eyelash extensions and facials, with the Brazilian wax leading above the rest as the most booked treatment across Brazilian Beauty’s network.
In fact, the waxing specialist business typically uses more than 40kg of wax in the month leading up to Valentine’s Day to meet the demand for Brazilian waxes, 20kg more than other periods of the year.
“For many clients Valentine’s Day is about looking good naked and it’s not just the ladies who go to all lengths for the most romantic day of the year. Many of our salons have reported a growing increase in male Brazilian waxing treatments, suggesting men are now willing to go the same extra mile.”
