With less than two weeks to go until the 2009 Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo, some new show features have been announced.
Located in the spa and skincare hall (Hall 1), the inaugural Organic area will showcase products from this rapidly expanding sector. Organic brands coming to Sydney include Babor Organics, La Mav, Organic Spa, Sothys Beauty Garden and Spa Organics.
On Saturday, August 8, Akiko Nichols, from Australian Certified Organic will launch the organics event, speaking about the benefits of stocking organic products and how you can become certified.
Following its successful launch at the 2008 expo, the Concept Spa returns. Divided into three areas in Hall 1, the spa will take visitors on a nutritious journey to highlight the benefits of health and wellbeing. The area will feature regular demonstrations and tea sampling. Visitors will learn how to enhance the client experience by incorporating nutrition, health and wellness into their business.
In the Raw
This raw food-inspired room will teach and enlighten visitors on the benefits of raw ingredients. In addition to a “wall of fruit” and fresh juice bar, Sherry Strong, food philosopher, nutritional strategist and co-founder of the World Wellness Project, will speak on food, nutrition, health and how this affects your body and can make an impact in your spa.
Pure Water
Discover the natural benefits of filtered water and how to incorportate these into your spa.
Tea Sanctuary
The Tea Sanctuary will offer the latest in herbal and organic teas supplied by the Byron Bay Tea Company.
Find out about the benefits of tea and how it relates to relaxation and wellness in this inspirational escape, and learn the benefits of introducing them into your spa.
After being launched at the 2008 expo, the Low Carbon Initiative will again encourage spa and salon owners to participate in lowering their carbon footprint.
Leading makeup artist, Rae Morris, returns, to conduct a series of three three-hour makeup master classes, covering trends, bridal makeup and career development. With two sessions already sold out, at the time of publication, there were still spaces available for the Saturday 2.30pm session.
Celebrity makeup artist, Natasha Severino will share her backstage makeup tips and trade secrets in a live-on-stage demonstration.
Expo organisers anticipate that The Makeup Awards and Nail Awards will again attract some impressive competition. The seminar program and interactive workshops are also expected to prove popular.
