Jodie Murrell, owner of Balgownie Beauty & Medispa, has returned to Sydney from San Francisco having won DermaQuest Clinic of the Year 2012. It was the first win for Jodie, who stopped WA’s Karen Bowen from continuing her winning streak (2010 and 2011).
“We warmly congratulate Jodie on her ongoing achievements and thank her for her continued and outstanding support in 2012. As our star performer, Jodie and her staff member Mirella De Maggio were rewarded with a trip for to Hayward, San Francisco, home of DermaQuest,” said Sean Abel, general manager of Clinic Care (DermaQuest distributors).
During the trip the pair enjoyed an exclusive DermaQuest VIP training day; a tour of the laboratory; an inspirational dinner with DermaQuest formulator, Sam Dhatt; and a day trip to the Napa Valley, California’s famous wine region – including a tour of Diamond Creek and Kamen Wines.
Jodie said of the break: “Our trip to San Francisco was amazing. It was a week of pure indulgence that exceeded all our expectations. The highlight of the trip was meeting Sam Dhatt and having the opportunity 
to see firsthand where and how the products are made and, of course, our exclusive access to Sam’s favourite vineyards in the Napa Valley.
“The opportunity to build on our skills, learn about new technologies and the latest ingredients made the trip not only fun but has helped to put us at the forefront of the beauty industry.
“To be named Australian Clinic of the year was a big achievement for myself and staff and, as recognition of the team effort it took to be number one, I rewarded one of my therapists with the opportunity to join me on the trip to San Francisco. We are proud to be DermaQuest’s most successful clinic. Now we are home and know how amazing the trip is, we are working harder than ever to give ourselves the opportunity to return in 2014.”
