The Academy of Cosmetic Medicine (ACMAS) are pleased to announce a new Graduate Diploma II in Paramedical Aesthetics for Beauty Therapists.
Founder Ian Haris
ACMAS was founded by cosmetic physician Ian Haris, to fulfil a need for one-on-one or small group workshops with online theory.
The core units comprising the proposed new course are:
1. Skin conditioning and advanced chemical peels such as AHA 50 per cent, TCA 15 per cent, Salicylic Acid 20 per cent and Jessners solution; introduction to stem cells and nanotechnology in topical skin products; recent advances in cosmeceuticals.
2. Cosmetic injectable procedures and treatments for therapists. These treatments utilise non schedule medications, i.e., those that do not require a prescription or medical supervision:
• Mesotherapy
• Injection lipolysis for localised fat and cellulite
• Skin needling for acne scars and as a vehicle for transdermal treatments
• Microsclerotherapy for small leg veins
3. Lasers, IPL, radiofrequency devices and other light based devices for treating photoageing, pigment disorders, vascular lesions and hair removal.
4. Body Contouring Devices – the leading area of growth in the device cosmetic industry – theory and practicals, facts and fiction.
5. Cosmetic Injectable interfacing. Therapists can learn about prescription (scheduled) cosmetic injectable indication and applications such as Botox and dermal fillers in order to introduce a medical or nurse injector to their premises.
